A Weekend in Atlanta

We headed to Atlanta for the weekend to enjoy some amazing music at the Shakey Knees festival at Centennial Olympic Park. One of my all-time favorite bands, the xx, was headlining the event. Plus, there were so many other really great bands playing, it was a no-brainer for us to make the 1-hour flight from Jacksonville. Some of the acts included: Bishop Briggs, The Pixies, LCD Soundsystem, Portugal. The Man, Anderson East, The Revivalist, Highly Suspect, Cage the Elephant and so many more!

We didn’t venture out much beyond the festival but did have an opportunity to check out Orpheus Brewing. The laws in Georgia that the time of our visit required that we purchase a ‘tour and tasting’ in order to purchase beer from the brewery. It was an interesting concept and not one we had encountered before.

Bottom Line:

Shakey Knees was such a great festival. The crowd was amazing and the bands were even better. Overall, the event had a really great set-up which made the experience very enjoyable. Plus, we didn’t have to wait in any lines at all. That alone is an impressive feat.
