There are so many different kinds of experiences you can have in New York. One of our favorite trips included a visit to the High Line in Manhattan and The Hamptons on Long Island.
We typically fly into JFK and take the train to Long Island to visit my sister’s family. We’ve visited many times and some of our favorite stops on Long Island include the South Hampton Windmill, Sparkling Pointe, Moustache Brewing and Wolffer Estate Vineyards. And lunch at Farm Country Kitchen is amazing!
The High Line is a 1.45-mile-long elevated linear park, greenway and rail trail. It was created on a former New York Central Railroad spur on the west side of Manhattan in New York City. The park is truly incredible. It covers all the bases – walking and running trails, food and souvenir vendors, amazing greenery and of course my favorite, the art. Not to mention, it’s a great way to see the city.
Bottom Line
While the High Line and the Hamptons don’t seem like a likely pair for one itinerary but it’s an easier paring than you might think. The Long Island Rail makes getting from one side of the Island to the other easy.
