My sister lives in Long Island and she takes us to see and do something new each time we visit. So, here’s our Brooklyn story. We flew into JFK and headed straight to Brooklyn Bridge Park. It was a quick 45 minute drive around 10:00 a.m. Wow! What a great way to see the NYC skyline.
From here, we headed to Brooklyn Flea. If you’re a fan of Flea Market Flip then you probably are familiar with this market. It was really fun to see it up close. Very cool vendors – and we had our very first ramen burger.
We headed to Brooklyn Brewery next where I fell in love. I’m a huge fan of sour beers and the Bel Air was the best I’d ever had. It’s a seasonal beer and I just can’t seem to find it anywhere. The place had a low key vibe and was quite spacious so great for big and small groups.
The crown jewel of the trips though was hands down Smorgasburg. Held in the Williamsburg area during our visit, it showcases 100+ local and regional food vendors to upwards of 10,000 visitors daily, making it one of the most popular tourist destinations in Brooklyn. Bottom line:
While most New York visitors are headed to Manhattan, I highly recommend making a stop in Brooklyn. If for nothing else, to visit Smorgasburg. If you consider yourself a foodie, it will literally change your life.
