Hilton Head is a quick four hour drive from Jacksonville Beach and it’s a great destination for a family getaway. We stayed at one of the Disney resorts in the area with my sister’s family. It’s the ideal location for little ones – there is a ton of stuff to keep them entertained! There is an awesome pool and water slide and a pier overlooking the marsh that the property is located on. Plus, we has full access to the sister property located directly on the beach.
We spent the majority of our time at the resort but ventured out for dinner at the Lucky Rooster. The food was outstanding and the cocktail menu was just as good. David and I aren’t typically big on cocktails but the menu was so appealing that we couldn’t resist one of their signature beverages.
We also dined at the nearby Poseidon Coastal Cuisine. The food was good and the location was super cute. There were a ton of shops and other restaurants nearby. It is a great place to spend an afternoon or evening.
Bottom line:
Hilton Head is a great family destination. The combination of southern city and coastal beach town make it a unique place to visit.
